Ethiopia’s Omo Valley

The South Omo Valley in Ethiopia is home to a wide array of ancient tribal cultures who still follow traditional agrarian lifestyles - herding cattle, planting crops on prehistoric terraces, and weaving cotton in the cool mountains above the valley. Hamer, Mursi, Karo, Dorze and other groups have successfully shared this open land along the upper reaches of the Great Rift Valley for centuries.
